BLACKBUNNY
THE ALIAS / THE STUDIO

Shot like the 90s never apologised

BlackBunny is a Melbourne studio and alias making boudoir, erotic and escort-portfolio photographs with hard flash and zero shame.

Who is BlackBunny?

Nobody you can name. BlackBunny is the alias, the studio and the whole operation: a Melbourne brand that learnt light in dark rooms, gig venues, share-house bathrooms and the back of a hire van.

The work sits where fashion, punk zines and the adult industry overlap. It is built on trust, a lot of laughing and a very good flash. People come as first-timers, as performers, as workers who need ads that sell, and as couples who want to see what they look like together.

There is no face to look up and no name to drop. You get the images, the discretion and a studio that keeps its mouth shut. Everybody leaves with pictures that feel like them, only louder.

NO APOLOGIES, HARD FLASH, FUJI X, ON LOCATION, MELBOURNE, CONSENT FIRST

Manifesto

The 90s did not apologise for being loud, grainy, overexposed and wildly alive. Neither do we.

We do not do gold script, white bedsheets and "feel beautiful" mood boards. We do red bulbs, brake-light gels, shiny floors, cheap motels and skin lit like a magazine cover from a squat party.

Being photographed like this is a good time. It should feel like a night out you do not regret.

Gear

FUJI X
A top-shelf Fuji X camera. Sharp, fast and unfussy, with colour that looks like a magazine cover.
HARD FLASH
Direct, unapologetic, a little bit harsh. Skin looks like skin and the shadows go black.

House values

  1. Consent is the whole job

Boundaries are written down before we start, and you can change them mid-shoot. Say stop and the camera comes down.

  2. Work is work

Sex work is decriminalised in Victoria and we treat portfolios as the professional images they are. No judgement, ever.

  3. Every body, every history

LGBTQIA+, trans, fat, disabled, older, first-timer, veteran. If you want to be photographed, you belong.

  4. Your pictures are yours

Nothing is posted or shared without your written opt-in. We keep what we have to and delete the rest.
